S.M.A.R.T. Academy is a summer camp, specializing in Science, Mathematics, Art, Recreation, and Technology. Our team of credentialed teachers will ensure your child gains useful knowledge, enjoys learning, and prepares for the upcoming school year by maximizing the summer break. Instead of watching television or staring at the wall, your child can learn and have fun at S.M.A.R.T. Academy.
Students will master two advanced scientific principles.
i.e. topics in Physics and Chemistry
1) Why are you called an "academy?"
*We are an "academy" because our primary focus is to provide a rigorous academic curriculum throughout the three-week period.
2) What differentiates S.M.A.R.T. Academy from other summer camps?
*Like most summer camps, students will undoubtedly get to have fun with their peers but S.M.A.R.T Academy's main purpose is to create a stimulating, learning environment for the summer session.
3) What are some specific activities that my child will be doing throughout the day?
*Students will gain hands-on experience with physics & chemistry. Students will interpret statistics and solve math brain teasers. Students will create art and unveil their artistic abilities. Students will experience outdoor recreation every day and field trips every week (weather permitting). Students will utilize technology to learn basic and advanced computer skills.
4) What age group is S.M.A.R.T. Academy geared towards?
*S.M.A.R.T. Academy's curriculum is specifically for students in grades 5-8 (ages 9-14).
5) What does my child need to bring each day?
*Students must be prepared each day by bringing paper, a notebook, and pens/pencils. Students must also pack a healthy lunch.
6) What should my child wear?
*Students must wear appropriate clothing for indoor and outdoor activities.
7) What if my child forgets his/her lunch?
*S.M.A.R.T. Academy will provide a small snack and drink for every child, each day.
Students will develop high school-level math skills.
i.e. introduction to Statistics, Geometry, and Algebra
Students will collaborate with each other to create a final, illustrious art project.
Students will develop skills in teamwork, strategy, and physical coordination through competitive activities.
Students will utilize technology throughout each day to learn basic and advanced computer skills.
